Disney+ is set to deepen its collaboration with Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA), expanding its esports livestreaming offering as part of a broader push into live, fan-driven content.
Under the new agreement, the platform will broadcast a wider slate of Korean esports events throughout 2026. The lineup includes the Esports Championships Asia, the KeSPA Cup, and national team matches in the lead-up to the 2026 Asian Games.
The move builds on Disney+’s exclusive coverage of the 2025 KeSPA Cup and reflects a continued effort to diversify beyond traditional film and series content into live sports and gaming ecosystems.
A key component of the partnership is global coverage of the Esports Championships Asia Jinju 2026, scheduled for April 24–26. The event has grown from a regional competition into a broader continental tournament, now featuring seven देशों: Korea, China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Mongolia.
Six official titles will be contested, including Street Fighter 6, The King of Fighters XV, Tekken 8, and the eFootball series. Disney+ will also provide coverage for PUBG: Battlegrounds and Eternal Return as an official broadcaster. A K-pop dance title, Stepin, will be included as a demonstration event.
Broadcasts will incorporate branding from ESPN, aiming to enhance the viewing experience and align esports production with traditional sports presentation standards.
In addition to tournament coverage, Disney+ will exclusively stream South Korea’s esports national team send-off ceremony and evaluation matches ahead of the 2026 Asian Games.
The expanded partnership highlights the growing global relevance of Korean esports and signals Disney+’s intent to strengthen its position in the competitive live content market.
