Giannis Antetokounmpo Invests in David Beckham’s Health Company IM8

Giannis Antetokounmpo has expanded his business portfolio by investing in IM8, a health and wellness company co-founded by former football star David Beckham. The move marks another step in the growing trend of elite athletes diversifying into health-focused ventures.

IM8, which specializes in nutritional supplements aimed at improving daily well-being, was launched in December 2024. According to reports, the company has already reached approximately $100 million in annual revenue within just 11 months of operation, highlighting rapid early growth in the competitive wellness sector.

The investment details have not been publicly disclosed. However, Antetokounmpo’s involvement adds significant visibility to the brand. The Milwaukee Bucks star stated that he aims not only to promote the company but also to contribute strategically by asking consumer-focused questions and helping ensure product quality meets high standards.

This is not the first time IM8 has attracted high-profile investors. Tennis world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and Formula 1 driver Ollie Bearman have also taken stakes in the company, reflecting a broader pattern of cross-sport investment in health and wellness brands.

Antetokounmpo, who has earned over $338 million during his NBA career, has already built a strong commercial profile through partnerships with major global brands such as Nike, Google Pixel, WhatsApp, JBL, and T-Mobile. His latest investment further strengthens his presence in the business and entrepreneurial space.

The growing interest in health-related companies among elite athletes aligns with a wider industry trend. Figures such as Serena Williams, Tom Brady, and Charles Barkley have also invested in or partnered with wellness and longevity-focused businesses in recent years.

IM8 itself is backed by Prenetics, Beckham’s co-founding partner, which has recently shifted its strategic focus toward the health company after previously exploring cryptocurrency initiatives. Beckham, meanwhile, continues to expand his post-playing career business empire through DRJB Holdings, which manages his various commercial ventures and has reported strong financial performance in recent years.

This latest development underscores how top athletes are increasingly leveraging their influence and capital to participate in fast-growing sectors beyond sports, particularly in health, wellness, and consumer lifestyle industries.
