Nine Group has secured a landmark five-year broadcast partnership with Netball Australia, taking exclusive rights to Suncorp Super Netball, all Australian Diamonds matches and the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney.
The agreement begins on 1 January 2027 and marks the biggest free-to-air broadcast commitment in the sport’s history in Australia.
Under the deal, Nine will air netball coverage across 9Network, 9Now and Stan Sport, strengthening its women’s sports portfolio as investment in the sector continues to grow.
A selection of Suncorp Super Netball matches will be shown free-to-air each round, alongside the full Finals Series, all Diamonds internationals and key World Cup fixtures, including the semi-finals and final.
Nine’s managing director of streaming and broadcast, Amanda Laing, said the partnership reflects the network’s focus on sports with strong national appeal.
She said netball remains deeply connected to Australian communities through schools, suburbs and regional towns, while the new agreement will provide fans with wider access and premium coverage.
Netball Australia chair Liz Ellis said the partnership comes at a key moment as competition for women’s sports rights intensifies, adding that the two organisations share a strong strategic vision.
CEO Stacey West also welcomed the agreement, noting that Nine was the original broadcaster of Suncorp Super Netball when the league launched ten years ago.
The deal is expected to further boost the visibility and commercial growth of netball ahead of the home World Cup in 2027.
