MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix draws nearly 185,000 fans

MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix maintained its strong attendance figures this weekend, with a total of 184,857 spectators attending the event between Friday and Sunday at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The figure was only 1.2% lower than last year’s total attendance of 187,086 fans, underlining the continued popularity of MotoGP in Spain despite an increasingly packed international calendar.

The Catalan round marked the sixth race weekend of the 2026 MotoGP season and pushed cumulative attendance across the championship beyond the one-million-spectator mark. MotoGP is aiming to surpass last season’s all-time record, when more than 3.6 million fans attended races worldwide.

Before arriving in Montmeló, the championship staged the French Grand Prix at Le Mans, which remains the best-attended race of the season so far after attracting more than 300,000 spectators over the race weekend.

Earlier in the year, the Spanish Grand Prix at Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto set a new attendance record with 224,627 spectators, surpassing the previous high of 224,420 set in 2024.

MotoGP also enjoyed a strong start to the season in Thailand, where the Grand Prix at the Chang International Circuit drew 228,228 spectators, ranking among the championship’s biggest events.

Meanwhile, MotoGP’s long-awaited return to Brazil for the first time since 1992 attracted 148,384 fans to the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna, highlighting the growth potential of the Brazilian motorsport market.
