Sportradar has agreed to sell Atrium Sports to Teamworks Innovations for $170 million as the sports data and technology company sharpens its focus on its core betting, gaming and media businesses.
The transaction, announced earlier this week with Teamworks now confirmed as the buyer, is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
Atrium Sports specialises in on-field analytics and performance services for sports teams and leagues. Sportradar acquired the business in early 2021 as part of its purchase of Synergy Sports, which it had taken over under the Synergy name in September 2020.
Sportradar retains key technology assets
Sportradar chief executive Carsten Koerl said the sale would streamline the company’s operations while allowing it to retain technology and capabilities that remain important to its wider business.
The company will keep several Atrium Sports assets connected to its existing products, including automated video production, automated graphics, computer vision and competition management technology.
“The proceeds will further strengthen our balance sheet and support capital allocation priorities,” Koerl said, adding that Sportradar would work with Teamworks to ensure a smooth transition for clients, partners and employees.
Sportradar described the deal as representing an accretive double-digit EBITDA multiple relative to its market valuation, suggesting the transaction is intended to deliver financial value while sharpening its strategic focus.
A strategic shift towards core businesses
The divestment reflects Sportradar’s effort to concentrate resources on its core betting, gaming and media operations, rather than maintaining a broader portfolio of sports technology services.
For Teamworks Innovations, the acquisition adds a business focused on analytics and performance technology used by teams and leagues. The companies have not disclosed further details about how Atrium Sports will be integrated into Teamworks.
The sale comes amid continued activity across Sportradar’s wider business. In late September, the company was appointed betting integrity partner to the International Padel Federation and Premier Padel, the sport’s leading professional tour.
In August, Sportradar and prediction-market operator Polymarket also expanded an existing partnership.
The Atrium transaction marks a further reshaping of Sportradar’s portfolio as it prioritises technology and data capabilities most closely aligned with its core commercial strategy.
