The German Ski Association (DSV) has renewed its domestic rights agreement with Germany’s two major public-service broadcasters, ARD and ZDF, for another four years. The extension ensures that winter sports will remain accessible to the German public through the 2029-30 season.
The deal, brokered by the rights agency SportA, covers a wide array of disciplines including:
Alpine skiing and Ski jumping
Cross-country skiing and Nordic combined
Ski cross, Freestyle skiing, and Snowboarding
The agreement includes both live coverage and on-demand viewing for all national DSV World Cup events. Stefan Schwarzbach, head of communications at the DSV, emphasized that this media presence is crucial for the visibility of the sport and directly supports youth development by fostering identification with top athletes.
While domestic rights are now secured until 2030, international media rights for FIS World Cup events in Germany remain with the Infront agency until 2026, and sponsorship rights are managed by Sportfive
