Sky Deutschland Expands WSC Sports AI Deal

Sky Deutschland has renewed and expanded its partnership with WSC Sports for an additional two years, deepening its commitment to AI-driven automated content production.

The deal extends the existing workflow used in Germany to now include Sky Austria. The focus of the renewal is on scaling digital output, allowing Sky to produce and distribute massive volumes of short-form content across social media, mobile apps, and OTT platforms almost instantly after a match event occurs.

Key Features of the Expanded Partnership:

  • Real-Time Automation: WSC Sports’ technology automatically generates clips, highlights, and graphics categorized by player or team, delivering them to fans in “near-live” time.
  • Commercial Growth: The system allows for automated sponsorship and branding integration into video clips, creating new digital inventory and repeatable revenue streams without increasing manual labor.
  • Generative AI Testing: The new phase includes early-stage testing of generative AI tools aimed at improving creative flexibility and further reducing production turnaround times.
  • Geographic Expansion: The operational framework now formally covers Sky Austria, standardizing content delivery across the DACH region.

Alessandro Reitano, SVP Sports Production at Sky Deutschland, emphasized that the partnership provides the “scale and flexibility” needed to meet modern fan demand for on-demand, short-form content. Aviv Arnon, Co-Founder of WSC Sports, noted that the expansion reflects a shared vision for “smarter, faster, and more engaging” sports media.
