Formula 1 Names Betway as First Official Global Betting Partner

In a landmark multi-year deal, Formula 1 has officially appointed Betway (owned by Super Group) as its first-ever Official Betting Partner. This groundbreaking agreement, set to run from 2026 through 2028, breaks decades of tradition and aligns the pinnacle of motorsport with the rapidly expanding global sports betting market.

1. Strategic Market Expansion

The partnership specifically targets high-growth regions where F1’s popularity has surged in recent years. The deal covers:

  • Europe & Middle East: Core traditional markets.
  • Africa: An emerging frontier for sports tech.
  • North America: Specifically focusing on Canada and Mexico, leveraging the massive regional fanbases of drivers like Sergio “Checo” Perez.

2. Real-Time Strategy Betting

This is not a simple “logo on the track” deal. Powered by ALT Sports Data, the partnership will introduce sophisticated, real-time betting markets for fans aged 18+.

Fans will be able to wager on live strategic variables, including:

  • Safety Car Intervals: Predictive odds on when a neutralization might occur.
  • Pit Stop Windows: Live betting on which team will blink first under pressure.
  • On-Track Battles: Real-time probability of overtakes in designated DRS zones.

Jonny Haworth, F1 Director of Commercial Partnerships, noted: “The partnership with Betway allows our adult fans to take a step further into the strategy and the action.” Neal Menashe, CEO of Super Group, added that the union reinforces their commitment to high-performance sports and ensures customers have access to the most innovative markets in racing.
