Real Betis Balompié has inaugurated a permanent sensory room at the Estadio La Cartuja, designed for supporters with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or cognitive disabilities. The initiative, led by the club’s foundation in collaboration with the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF), makes Real Betis the only LaLiga club with a permanent space of this kind.
The room will be available starting from the upcoming match against RC Celta this Sunday. It provides an adapted environment shielded from the stadium’s high levels of sound and visual stimulation. The space includes adjustable lighting, interactive materials, and a glass-fronted viewing area for watching the game live.
Real Betis already operates a similar facility at its Benito VillamarÃn stadium — the first of its kind in Spanish football — and has extended the service to La Cartuja during the temporary relocation due to ongoing renovations at their home ground. The sensory room will remain in use until the team returns to Heliópolis.
The project was developed in partnership with Autismo Sevilla and the RFEF, which will also have access to the space for its own events at the stadium, such as the Copa del Rey final. Under the agreement with Autismo Sevilla, three tickets per match are reserved for the organization’s users.
Access to the sensory room is arranged through prior request via email to the club. Each ticket allows entry for the person with ASD or cognitive disability plus one companion, with special pricing available for non-high-demand league matches.
