Carabao Extends EFL Cup Sponsorship Through 2028-29, Marks 12th Season

Carabao will remain the title sponsor of the English Football League’s (EFL) Carabao Cup through the 2028-29 season, extending its partnership to 12 years—the longest in the competition’s history.

The Thailand-based energy drink brand first joined the tournament in 2017, taking over from Capital One. The early two-year renewal comes ahead of this year’s final between Arsenal and Manchester City at Wembley Stadium. Under the deal, Carabao will continue to maintain a strong digital and in-stadia presence and provide exclusive ticketing opportunities for its customers.

The 2026-27 season will also serve as the UK launch for Carabao Lager, with branding and matchday sampling across select fixtures.

Sathien Sathientham, CEO of Carabao Group, said: “Being part of the competition’s journey for so many years is something we are incredibly proud of, and we look forward to supporting its growth and success for many seasons to come.”

The Carabao Cup sits alongside other EFL commercial partnerships, including Sky Bet as a title sponsor and deals with Electronic Arts and eBay. Broadcast rights remain primarily with Sky, with ITV and CBS Sports holding sub-licensing agreements for select matches.
