Volleyball World has secured new multi-year broadcast partnerships with Thai telecom operator Jasmine International (JAS) and media group Mono, strengthening its footprint across Southeast Asia.
The agreements will deliver coverage of the sport’s top international competitions across Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, including the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), the FIVB World Cup, and the AVC Continental Championships.
A push into key growth markets
The partnership reflects Volleyball World’s ongoing strategy to expand in Asia, with Thailand identified as one of its most important markets due to its strong national team following and growing digital audience.
“Thailand is one of the most passionate and strategically important volleyball markets in Asia,” said Felix von Knorring, chief media officer at Volleyball World.
The deal also broadens regional access by extending coverage into neighbouring countries, creating a unified Southeast Asian platform for volleyball content.
Multi-platform distribution model
Mono will play a central role in distribution, offering a hybrid model that includes free-to-air coverage on its Mono29 channel alongside streaming on Monomax.
For the first time, beach volleyball events will also be broadcast on a Thai platform, marking an expansion of the sport’s visibility in the region.
The focus will be on maximizing exposure for national team matches, particularly those involving Thailand, tapping into strong domestic interest.
Building a global media strategy
The deal adds to a growing portfolio of broadcast agreements for Volleyball World, which has been steadily expanding its global reach since its formation in 2021 as a joint venture between the FIVB and private equity firm CVC Capital Partners.
Recent partnerships include renewals with broadcasters in Europe and Asia, alongside deals with major networks such as CBS Sports and Fox Sports.
Long-term commercial ambitions
Volleyball World has positioned itself as a commercial engine for the sport, aiming to combine broadcast distribution with digital engagement to drive long-term growth.
“This agreement strengthens our reach across the region,” von Knorring added. “By combining free-to-air exposure with digital distribution, we’re building a sustainable model to grow the sport globally.”
As volleyball continues to expand its media presence, Southeast Asia is emerging as a key battleground for fan engagement, broadcast rights, and commercial development.
