American Express has announced a significant expansion of its sports and entertainment portfolio, securing long-term partnerships across the New York/New Jersey and Atlanta metropolitan areas.
Through these multi-year agreements, American Express becomes the Official Payments Partner for some of the most prominent venues and teams in North American sports, including MetLife Stadium, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the New York Jets, the New York Giants, the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC, and a future NWSL expansion franchise slated for 2028.
Enhancing the Fan Experience
These partnerships build upon the company’s existing relationship with Hard Rock Stadium and the Miami Dolphins. By adding MetLife and Mercedes-Benz Stadiums to the American Express Venue Collection™, the company is extending its premium service model directly to the stadium environment.
Eligible Card Members can expect a suite of exclusive benefits, including:
- Amex Presale Tickets®: Early access to tickets for select events.
- Concession Credits: Opportunities for statement credits on qualifying food and beverage purchases.
- Exclusive Perks: Dedicated stadium experiences tailored for cardholders.
Benefits are scheduled to go live at Mercedes-Benz Stadium during the 2026 spring season, with MetLife Stadium perks debuting ahead of the upcoming NFL season.
A Strategic “Customer-First” Approach
The move reflects American Express’s broader strategy to align its brand with high-passion fan cultures.
“We value American Express’ customer-first philosophy,†said Ron VanDeVeen, President and CEO of MetLife Stadium. “Together we will offer the world’s best customer experience on the world’s biggest stage.â€
Elizabeth Rutledge, Chief Marketing Officer at American Express, echoed the sentiment, noting that the company is aiming to provide value during “moments that matter” to their customers. “These new stadium and NFL team partnerships in the New York, Atlanta, and Miami areas further cement our role as a leading payments partner in sports and entertainment,†Rutledge added.
