WNBA superstar and entrepreneur Angel Reese has officially joined the ownership group of the Brisbane Bullets. Announced on March 10, 2026, this strategic partnership marks a significant milestone for the franchise as it aims to strengthen its footprint in the NBL and spearhead a bid for a new WNBL expansion team.
A Strategic Partnership
Reese joins an investment group led by majority owner Jason Levien and co-owner Ben Haan. This move follows her recent high-profile tour of Australia, where she launched her signature Angel Reese 1 basketball shoe with Reebok. During the visit, it was confirmed that Reebok will serve as the official footwear partner for the WNBL starting in 2027, further aligning Reese’s brand with the growth of women’s basketball in the region.
Driving WNBL Expansion
Angel Reese’s involvement is a cornerstone of the Bullets’ ambition to secure the 10th license in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL). The organization is actively working to bring a professional women’s team back to Brisbane, positioning Reese as a central figure in that development.
Brisbane Bullets CEO Malcolm Watts highlighted the cultural significance of the deal:
“Angel is a fantastic ambassador for basketball and a globally recognized superstar. Basketball is Queensland’s fastest-growing sport, and having Angel involved as we pursue a WNBL team is a huge asset.”
