The AO Manchester Thunder Era

In a monumental shift for British netball, Manchester Thunder officially rebranded as AO Manchester Thunder on February 11, 2026. This evolution follows a massive five-year contract extension with the UK’s leading electrical retailer, AO, elevating them from principal partner to the club’s Franchise Name Sponsor.

This partnership provides the financial stability required for the club’s transition into full-time professionalism. The deal goes beyond a simple name change:

  • Branding: The AO logo will now dominate the front of the Netball Super League (NSL) match dresses, training kits, and the home court at Belle Vue Arena.
  • Community Focus: The five-year roadmap includes significant investment in North West grassroots projects and fan engagement “activations” at major arena events.
  • Professionalization: This investment supports the club’s goal to become the premier elite netball franchise in the UK, both on and off the court.
