The ATP Board of Directors has officially renewed Andrea Gaudenzi for a third term, extending his leadership as Chairman until 2028. This two-year extension grants Gaudenzi the mandate to oversee the next phase of the OneVision strategic plan and the historic expansion of the tennis calendar.

Record Player Compensation and Profit-Sharing
Under Gaudenzi’s tenure, annual player compensation has surged by $100 million, reaching a record $269.6 million in 2025. When including Grand Slams, the total prize money pool hits $400 million.

Profit-Sharing Success: The transparency-based profit-sharing model at Masters 1000 events has distributed $37 million to players over three years.

Expansion in 2026: Starting this year, the profit-sharing model will officially expand from Masters 1000 events to the ATP 500 category.

Saudi Arabia to Host New Masters 1000
A cornerstone of Gaudenzi’s upcoming term is the introduction of a tenth Masters 1000 tournament in Saudi Arabia by 2028. This marks the first time in 35 years that a new tournament of this elite category has been added to the circuit. This move coincides with a global review of rankings, calendar optimization, and event formats.

Gaudenzi’s leadership has also seen:

ATP Challenger Tour: A 167% increase in prize money since 2022, projected to hit $32.4 million in 2026.

Baseline Program: Ensuring minimum income guarantees for the top 250 players.

Media Innovation: The creation of Tennis Data Innovations (TDI) and the centralization of broadcasting rights under ATP Media have led to record-breaking commercial revenues.
