Audi Revolut F1 Team Partners with bp as Official Technology Lead

Ahead of its highly anticipated debut in the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship, the Audi Revolut F1 Team has announced a major long-term partnership with bp. Under the agreement, bp will serve as the team’s official technology partner, focusing on the co-development of high-performance sustainable fuels and hybrid power units.

The collaboration has been active behind the scenes for three years, driven by the FIA’s upcoming 2026 regulations which mandate the use of 100% advanced sustainable fuels.

Engineering Excellence: 400 Samples and 200 Tests

To meet the rigorous demands of the new hybrid era, the technical teams have developed the bp Ultimate Racing fuel through an exhaustive process. The research involved creating over 400 fuel samples and conducting more than 200 blend tests to optimize performance and efficiency.

As part of the deal, bp will maintain a trackside laboratory at every Grand Prix. This facility will provide real-time diagnostics and engineering support, ensuring the Audi power unit operates at peak performance under varying race conditions.

Leadership Perspectives

Mattia Binotto, Head of the Audi F1 Project, emphasized that the partnership is fundamental to their competitive edge. “bp are fully integrated into our engineering programmes. With bp embedded at every race, this partnership goes far beyond a conventional collaboration,” Binotto stated.

Nicola Buck, Senior Vice President of Marketing at bp, added that the partnership is built on a shared ambition for the future of motorsport, noting that the same expertise goes into developing bp Ultimate fuels for everyday drivers worldwide.

Nico Hulkenberg, who will spearhead Audi’s debut on the grid, also welcomed the news: “Fuel performance and efficiency remain key areas of focus, especially under the new hybrid regulations. We are looking forward to a successful journey together.”
