FC Barcelona is forecasting a break-even financial result and operating revenue of €1.195 billion for the 2026-27 season, according to internal documents reviewed by Palco23.
The club will put its financial statements for the 2025-26 season and the budget for the new campaign to a vote on September 19. The projected €1.195 billion in operating revenue would represent an increase of €135 million from the €1.06 billion recorded in 2025-26 and the highest figure in the club’s history.
The forecast would also mark the second consecutive season in which Barcelona’s operating revenue exceeds €1 billion.
The projected figure is almost double the €636 million generated in 2019-20, while revenue stood at €617 million the following season.
Commercial operations to generate €577m
Barcelona expects its commercial division to be the club’s largest source of revenue in 2026-27, generating €577 million.
The budget forecasts a further €285 million from stadium operations and €247 million from audiovisual rights. The club also expects to generate €74 million from player sales and loans, alongside €13 million from asset sales and other recurring income.
On the cost side, sporting wages are projected to increase by €65 million to €636 million, while non-sporting salaries are expected to rise by €10 million to €93 million.
Management expenses are budgeted at €356 million, with a further €48 million allocated to other costs.
€18m loss in 2025-26 despite record revenue
The 2025-26 financial year delivered a mixed result for Barcelona, with the club recording record operating revenue of €1.06 billion but a net loss of €18 million.
Operating revenue increased from €994 million in 2024-25, although it fell short of the €1.075 billion budgeted for the season.
The men’s first team generated €627.8 million in revenue and recorded a net result of almost €50 million.
Barcelona Femení generated €28.8 million in revenue and posted an €8.5 million profit, while the basketball section recorded €19.5 million in revenue and a €17.6 million net loss.
The handball team generated €3 million and recorded an €8.8 million loss. The futsal section generated €1.8 million and lost almost €4 million, while the youth football operation generated €1.5 million and recorded a loss of more than €8 million.
Other sporting sections generated approximately €500,000 and recorded losses of nearly €2 million.
Barcelona’s 2026-27 budget therefore points to a significant improvement in profitability, with the club targeting break-even while pushing operating revenue close to the €1.2 billion mark.
