The German Bundesliga has officially expanded its innovative “creator-centric” broadcast model to Canada through a strategic partnership with the Creator Sports Network (CSN). For the remainder of the 2025-26 season, select matches will be livestreamed by popular online content creators, allowing the league to tap into a younger, digitally native audience.
Through this deal, creators such as ZwebackHD, Box2Box, and Bugs will host simultaneous live streams on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. This initiative complements existing traditional broadcast deals with DAZN and OneSoccer, aiming to capitalize on the 83% growth the league has seen in Canada since 2018—a surge largely credited to the stardom of Canadian national team captain Alphonso Davies at Bayern Munich.
By moving beyond conventional linear TV, the Bundesliga continues to lead the way in merging professional sports with the “creator economy,” a strategy that has already proven successful in the UK and Brazil.
