Riding the momentum of record-breaking viewership in 2025, Canal+ has unveiled an ambitious broadcasting roadmap for the 2026 Formula 1 and MotoGP seasons. The French broadcaster is doubling down on “inside” access, high-profile consultants, and premium documentary content to cement its status as the ultimate destination for motorsports fans.
Expanded Expert Lineup
The 2026 roster sees a significant boost in expert analysis. Former F1 driver Romain Grosjean will increase his presence, commentating on nearly ten Grands Prix this season. Joining him is a fresh face in the booth: Doriane Pin, the 2025 F1 Academy World Champion, who will provide expert insight for the F1 Academy series and select F1 races.
Immersive Storytelling: The Red Bull Connection
With French talent Isack Hadjar securing a coveted seat at Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen, Canal+ is launching a dedicated “behind-the-scenes” series following Hadjar’s journey. This immersive approach is designed to give fans unprecedented access to the inner workings of the grid’s top team.
The network’s premium content slate also includes:
- Enzo Ferrari Documentary: A deep-dive series into the life of the legendary founder.
- Jean Alesi Feature Film: A celebratory event film dedicated to the French racing icon.
Two-Wheel Innovation: MotoGP and Beyond
The digital offering for MotoGP is also expanding. Fans can look forward to the third season of Team Zarco, along with a unique new format featuring the charismatic Günther Steiner. Furthermore, Canal+ has officially acquired the rights to WorldWCR, the women’s motorcycling world championship, broadening its commitment to diverse racing formats.
This editorial shift aims to capitalize on the 1.28 million average viewers recorded last season, ensuring Canal+ remains at the forefront of the premium sports media landscape.
