The CONMEBOL has significantly increased prize money for its club competitions in 2026, raising the total pool to more than $260 million.
The flagship tournament, the Copa Libertadores, will distribute $220 million, while the Copa Sudamericana will see its prize fund rise to $84.6 million.
Bigger Rewards for Clubs
The winner of the Libertadores will earn $25 million, with total earnings potentially reaching up to $40 million when performance-based bonuses are included. Meanwhile, the Sudamericana champion will receive $10 million.
Match-winning bonuses have also increased. Clubs will earn $340,000 per victory in the Libertadores, while Sudamericana wins will be rewarded with $125,000—adding further incentive for competitive performances throughout the tournaments.

CONMEBOL president Alejandro DomÃnguez highlighted the increase as part of the organization’s broader strategy to elevate the level of competition and strengthen football development across South America.
The expanded prize structure reflects a growing effort to position South American club football on a more competitive financial footing with global tournaments, while also enhancing the appeal of its competitions for clubs and players alike.
