Croke Park has officially unveiled its new AI-powered digital assistant, marking a significant leap in stadium technology and fan engagement. Developed in partnership with Fexco, “The Croke Park Stadium Assistant” aims to streamline the visitor journey at one of Ireland’s most iconic venues.

Real Time Navigation and Fan Support

Accessible via a simple QR code, the AI assistant provides supporters with instant information to navigate the stadium. Fans can now find the most efficient routes to their seats, locate the nearest amenities, and track live match updates in real-time.

A key feature of the system is its ability to respond to live crowd movements, helping stadium staff reduce congestion and optimize foot traffic during high-profile fixtures.

Successful Pilot During Allianz League

The technology underwent rigorous testing during the AIB GAA All-Ireland Senior Club Finals and selected Allianz League matches in January. Early feedback from the Hogan Stand has been overwhelmingly positive:

  • Weather Adaptability: During poor weather on January 24th, the AI helped fans find covered seating and alternative areas.
  • Congestion Management: The system identified pressure points, allowing staff to enhance the fan journey from arrival to departure.
  • Ease of Use: High interaction levels were recorded for facility location and live match statistics.

The Future of Smart Stadiums

Noel Quinn, Head of Marketing at Croke Park, described the technology as a “first-of-its-kind in Ireland.” The partnership with Fexco and its SmartAssist Platform is just the beginning. The long-term vision includes integrating:

  • Personalized Offers: Tailored deals for food and beverages.
  • Agentic Payments: Seamless in-platform transactions.
  • Loyalty Integration: Rewards for frequent stadium visitors.

The pilot will continue throughout the Allianz League campaign, with the next deployments scheduled for the Croke Park fixtures on February 14th and 21st.
