DAZN has agreed to acquire EverPass Media, the US-based platform that distributes live sports content to commercial venues, in a deal that will expand the streaming giant’s presence in the American sports market.
As part of the transaction, EverPass will be rebranded as DAZN for Business, creating a dedicated commercial sports platform targeting bars, restaurants and other venues.
EverPass’ major shareholders, including RedBird Capital Partners, TKO and 32 Equity, will become shareholders in DAZN as part of the deal. DAZN will effectively exchange some of its equity to complete the transaction.
EverPass chief executive Alex Kaplan will continue to lead the business while taking on an expanded role within DAZN.
Founded in 2023 by 32 Equity, the investment arm of the NFL, and RedBird, EverPass is best known for holding the exclusive commercial distribution rights to NFL Sunday Ticket regular-season games. The acquisition will therefore give DAZN control of the rights to every live, out-of-market Sunday afternoon NFL game.
The deal follows a contractual dispute between EverPass and DirecTV over Sunday Ticket, which was finally settled in July.
Beyond the NFL, EverPass distributes a range of premium sports content to commercial venues, including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Formula 1, PGA Tour, MLB and NBA.
The platform also has distribution partnerships with major media and streaming companies including Apple, Paramount, Netflix and Peacock.
DAZN said it plans to invest in EverPass’ technology capabilities, content offering and geographic reach as it integrates the business into its broader commercial strategy.
“This is an important step in DAZN’s journey to become a global home of sport,” said DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev.
He added that EverPass provides DAZN with a proven commercial distribution platform, strong relationships with venues across the US and a portfolio of premium rights that complements the company’s growing American business.
RedBird founder and managing partner Gerry Cardinale said EverPass would help establish DAZN’s commercial business in the US and provide a platform from which the company can scale internationally.
The acquisition is the latest in a series of expansion moves by DAZN. Earlier this week, the company launched the NCAA College Sports Channel, a dedicated service offering US college sports to audiences across more than 200 global markets.
The transaction also follows EverPass’ growing distribution relationship with Apple, including an agreement unveiled in February for distribution through Apple TV.
The acquisition strengthens DAZN’s position not only as a direct-to-consumer streaming service but also as a commercial sports distribution business, giving it a broader role in how premium sports rights are consumed across the US hospitality and entertainment sector.
