DAZN and Matchroom Boxing Secure Global Future with Five Year Rights Extension

Eddie Hearn and Shay Segev announcing the DAZN Matchroom five-year extension.

In a landmark move for the sport, DAZN Group and Matchroom Boxing have officially announced a five-year extension of their global broadcasting partnership. The deal, revealed on February 19, 2026, secures Matchroom’s extensive fight calendar on the streaming platform through to 2031, reinforcing DAZN’s status as the definitive “Global Home of Boxing.”

The agreement primarily covers the United Kingdom and the United States, ensuring a consistent pipeline of elite-level combat sports for years to come.

Key Deal Terms and Global Reach

The extension provides long-term financial and operational stability for both entities as they navigate an increasingly competitive sports media landscape.

  • Fight Volume: Guaranteed minimum of 30 blockbuster fight nights per year globally.
  • Duration: Five-year extension running from 2026 through to 2031.
  • Content Scope: Beyond live events, the deal includes 24/7 original programming, documentaries, and behind-the-scenes features focused on Matchroom’s world-class roster.
  • Elite Stable: The partnership continues to showcase icons such as Anthony Joshua and Katie Taylor, alongside pound-for-pound stars like Dmitry Bivol, Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez, and Jaron “Boots” Ennis.

Strengthening the Australian Footprint

A pivotal component of the new agreement is a dedicated infrastructure for the Australian market. Following DAZN’s high-profile $3.4 billion acquisition of Foxtel Group in April 2025, the companies are integrating their assets:

  • Local Broadcasts: Seven major Matchroom events will be broadcast locally in Australia via Kayo Sports and Foxtel throughout 2026.
  • Market Integration: Foxtel, now operating as “a DAZN Company,” serves as the primary engine for Matchroom’s expansion into the Asia-Pacific region.

“Matchroom trusts DAZN to deliver the best experiences for the biggest fights for boxing fans everywhere. Together, we’ll continue to raise the bar.” — Shay Segev, DAZN Group CEO.
