Disney is expanding ESPN content availability through Disney+, bringing sports programming to more than 50 countries across Europe and Asia-Pacific. This move increases ESPN’s international reach to approximately 100 markets.
The expanded offering will include live sports such as NBA, NHL, and college competitions, alongside ESPN’s documentary library (including 30 for 30) and select studio programming like ESPN FC. Over time, the service is expected to scale to thousands of live events annually, depending on regional rights.
In Europe and select Asia-Pacific markets, subscribers will gain access to curated English-language ESPN content within the Disney+ platform during an initial rollout phase. The expansion reflects Disney’s broader strategy to strengthen its sports content portfolio and deepen engagement with global audiences through streaming.
