Following the successful debut of the hydrogen-powered racing era, Extreme H has officially extended its media rights partnership with MBC Group for an additional two years. The deal, announced on February 18, 2026, ensures that the pioneering off-road series will remain available to millions of fans across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) through 2027.

The renewal follows the historic inaugural Extreme H World Cup held in Qiddiya City, Saudi Arabia, in October 2025, which marked the official transition from the electric Extreme E series to hydrogen power.

Comprehensive Coverage in Arabic and English

Under the terms of the new agreement, MBC Group—the largest media company in the region—will provide extensive coverage of the FIA Extreme H World Cup. The broadcast package includes:

  • Live Race Coverage: Real-time broadcasting of the off-road hydrogen spectacle.
  • Multilingual Commentary: All programming will be available in both Arabic and English.
  • Support Content: Highlights, magazine shows, and exclusive behind-the-scenes features exploring hydrogen technology.

Pioneering the Future of Motorsport

Extreme H has effectively replaced Extreme E, which concluded its “Final Lap” in October 2025. The shift represents a strategic pivot by the FIA and series organizers to showcase hydrogen as a viable, clean energy solution for high-performance vehicles.

“MBC is a powerhouse broadcaster in the region and we are delighted to extend our partnership with them following the incredible success of our debut event,” said Ali Russell, Managing Director of Extreme H.

Strategic Regional Growth

The MENA region, and Saudi Arabia in particular, has become the global hub for Extreme H operations. With the series launching its first-ever World Cup in Qiddiya, the MBC extension solidifies the region’s role in the series’ long-term commercial strategy. This deal follows a similar long-term extension with Sony Pictures Network (SPN) in India, highlighting the series’ growing global footprint.
