Formula 1 has officially ushered in a new era with the launch of its “All To Drive For†campaign. Featuring Hollywood star and F1 The Movie lead Damson Idris, the campaign signals the most significant transformation the sport has seen in over a decade.
A Triple Reset: Technical, Sporting, and Commercial
The 2026 season isn’t just a new calendar year; it is a fundamental “triple reset.” The campaign centers on a 60-second flagship film showcasing all 22 drivers, including the newly formed Cadillac F1 Team.
At the heart of the narrative is reigning World Champion Lando Norris. Following his historic 2025 title win with McLaren, Norris represents the shifting tide of the sport as new regulations aim to level the playing field.
“The 2026 season welcomes Formula 1’s next generation of racing, with new cars, new engines, and a whole new style of driving,†said Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1. “It’s the biggest shake-up our sport has ever seen.â€
Introducing the ‘Nimble Car’ Concept
The 2026 specifications move away from the heavy machinery of the past, introducing a smaller, lighter “Nimble Car” designed for closer wheel-to-wheel racing. Key innovations include:
- Active Aerodynamics: Moveable front and rear wings allowing for “Corner” and “Straight” modes.
- 50/50 Power Split: A revolutionary balance between internal combustion and electrical energy.
- 100% Sustainable Fuels: Powering the grid with carbon-neutral technology.
- Expanded Grid: The entry of Audi and Cadillac brings the total to 11 teams for the first time since 2016.
The Global Stage
The campaign launch coincides with a record-breaking 24-race calendar and a massive expansion in the United States. While icons like Lewis Hamilton—now making his debut for Ferrari—and Fernando Alonso provide veteran presence, the spotlight is also on the “next-gen” stars. Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), Arvid Lindblad (Racing Bulls), and Gabriel Bortoleto (Audi) are set to challenge the status quo.
The season officially begins on 6 March at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
