FIFA Unveils €3.5 Million Prize Pool for Inaugural Women’s Club World Cup
FIFA has officially announced a record-breaking €3.5 million ($3.8M) prize fund for the debut of its new annual women’s club competition. Kicking off this week in England, the tournament represents a major milestone in FIFA’s commitment to the professionalization of the women’s game.
Tournament Format & Final Four
The competition will conclude in a Final Four format, with the final held this Sunday at London’s Emirates Stadium. The participating giants include:
- Arsenal FC (UEFA Women’s Champions League winners)
- SC Corinthians (Brazil)
- Gotham FC (USA/NWSL)
- AS Far (Morocco)
Prize Money Breakdown
The champions will secure a massive $2.3 million (€2 million), a record sum for a single women’s club tournament. The full distribution is as follows:
- Winner: $2.3 Million
- Runner-up: $1 Million
- Semi-finalists: $200,000 each
- Preliminary Round (Auckland United & Wuhan Chegu): $100,000 each
FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström described the payout as an “unmistakable statement of faith” in women’s club football. This annual event serves as a precursor to the expanded 32-team Women’s Club World Cup scheduled for 2028.
