The FIVB has set an ambitious goal to double the number of volleyball participants globally, aiming to grow from 800 million to 1.6 billion players by 2032.
To achieve this, the governing body plans to accelerate its “Volleyball Experience†program, designed to introduce the sport through fun, interactive formats. The initiative focuses particularly on engaging younger audiences and increasing female participation.
The program gained global visibility during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, notably through beach volleyball events staged near the Eiffel Tower. Since then, activation sessions have been rolled out in multiple cities worldwide to expand the sport’s reach.
With this strategy, FIVB aims not only to increase participation numbers but also to strengthen volleyball’s global footprint and cultural relevance, leveraging experiential formats to attract new generations of players and fans.
