Formula E Appoints Legends’ Will Brown as New Chief Commercial Officer

Formula E has officially strengthened its executive ranks by appointing Will Brown as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Brown, who currently serves as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Motorsport at Legends Global, will transition to his new role in July 2026.

Reporting directly to CEO Jeff Dodds, Brown will be tasked with spearheading Formula E’s global commercial strategy and accelerating the growth of its partnership ecosystem.

A Proven Track Record in Elite Sports

Brown arrives with an impressive pedigree in the commercial sports landscape. His career highlights include:

  • Legends Global: Leading the motorsport division and driving significant commercial growth.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Key roles in high-profile properties such as Audi F1 and Real Madrid CF.
  • Global Experience: Former senior positions in commercial strategy and partnerships at Ironman, Arsenal FC, and Manchester United FC.

“Will brings a rare combination of strategic clarity, international experience, and a proven ability to drive commercial growth at the highest level,” stated Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E.

Strategic Expansion: China and the US

The appointment comes at a pivotal moment as the electric racing series enters its next decade. Brown’s primary focus will be scaling the championship’s commercial proposition, specifically targeting high-priority markets.

  • Fanbase Growth: The series reached a milestone of 422 million fans during the 2024-2025 season.
  • Market Focus: As highlighted by CMO Ellie Norman and Co-founder Alberto Longo, the long-term strategy involves adding one new strategic location per year through 2030, with China and the United States identified as the most critical regions for expansion.

Brown expressed his enthusiasm for the move, noting: “There is a clear ambition to scale and evolve the commercial offering, and I look forward to working with Jeff and the team to unlock new opportunities and continue driving the championship’s strong global trajectory.”
