Fox Corp has significantly strengthened its international sports portfolio by securing exclusive media rights for the German Bundesliga across Mexico and Central America. The multi-year agreement will begin with the 2026-27 season and run through the 2030-31 campaign, ending Sky Mexico’s current tenure as the regional broadcaster.

Unprecedented Coverage Across Platforms

The deal ensures comprehensive access for fans, with Fox set to broadcast 309 matches per season. This includes:

  • All 306 Bundesliga league games.
  • The season-opening German Super Cup.
  • The post-season promotion/relegation playoffs.

Matches will be available with both English and Spanish commentary across Fox’s linear channels, the Fox One OTT service, and its free ad-supported streaming platform, Tubi.

Local Expertise: The Guadalajara Connection

A key component of this partnership is the involvement of the Bundesliga Americas Studio in Guadalajara, Mexico. This studio, which opened in February 2025, will produce tailored ancillary programming and original content designed specifically for the Spanish-speaking market, ensuring the league “speaks the language” of local fans.

Strategic Expansion in the Americas

The agreement covers Mexico as well as Belize, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. This move is part of the Bundesliga’s broader “internationalization strategy,” supported by their strategic partner Relevent Sports, to deepen engagement in the Americas ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With this acquisition, Fox solidifies its position as a football leader in the region, adding the Bundesliga to a star-studded portfolio that already includes Liga MX, the Premier League, and the UEFA Champions League.
