France Télévisions and BeIN Sports to Share EHF Euro 2026 Rights

France Télévisions has reclaimed the free-to-air (FTA) rights for the Men’s and Women’s EHF European Handball Championships, taking over from commercial broadcaster TF1 after seven years.

Under the new agreement, the public-service broadcaster will provide live coverage of key matches alongside pay-TV giant BeIN Sports, which remains the exclusive broadcaster for the entirety of the tournament. The deal ensures that crucial matches of the French national teams remain accessible to the general public.

Key Details of the Partnership:

  • Free-to-Air Coverage: France Télévisions will broadcast matches deemed of “major importance,” including France’s games from the main round onwards, as well as the semi-finals and the final.
  • BeIN Sports Dominance: BeIN Sports retains its role as the primary home of handball in France, airing every single match of both the Men’s (January 2026) and Women’s (December 2026) championships.
  • The Return to Public TV: This marks a significant return for handball to France’s public airwaves, a move strategically managed by the Infront agency to maintain the sport’s high visibility.
  • Defending Champions: The French men’s team enters the 2026 tournament as the reigning European champions, having defeated Denmark in the 2024 final.

Tournament Schedule:

The Men’s EHF Euro 2026 is currently underway (January 15 – February 1) across Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. The Women’s EHF Euro 2026 will take place in December across five countries: Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Turkey.
