Spanish sports infrastructure company Greenset has appointed Aleix Escassi as its new CEO, bringing in a senior executive with experience across banking, industry and sport as it looks to scale internationally.
Escassi joins after serving as CEO of Excens and previously holding senior roles at Banco Sabadell, where he led client strategy and digital transformation. His appointment signals a push by Greenset to professionalize its structure and prepare for its next growth phase.
In a statement, Escassi described the company as “a project that won me over from day one,” highlighting both the expansion potential of racquet sports and Greenset’s operational foundations.
Building scale in a growing racquet sports market
The move comes as demand accelerates across tennis, padel and pickleball — three segments where Greenset operates as a designer, manufacturer and installer of sports facilities.
Outgoing CEO Fernando Cánovas framed the hire as a strategic step forward: strengthening management capacity, improving scalability and positioning the company as a global operator in racquet sports infrastructure.
With installations in more than 50 countries and decades of experience, Greenset is now aiming to translate its technical expertise into a more structured international growth strategy.
Expansion structure already in place
Escassi’s arrival follows another ключ appointment earlier in the year: Belén Montes as director of expansion.
Montes brings international experience from Padel Nuestro, where she led expansion projects across Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Her background also includes roles at Grupo Time2Padel and M&B Partners, spanning commercial development and marketing.
Together, the new leadership structure suggests Greenset is aligning its executive team around growth, with a clear focus on internationalization and market consolidation.
Timing the boom
The appointment comes at a moment when padel and pickleball, in particular, are seeing rapid global adoption — opening opportunities not just for clubs and leagues, but for infrastructure providers.
For Greenset, the bet is clear: scale early, professionalize fast and position itself at the center of a fast-growing global ecosystem.
With Escassi now in charge, the company is shifting from a strong technical operator to a more ambitious international platform.
