Handball Euro 2026 Attains Over 1 Billion Digital Impressions

The 2026 Men’s European Handball Championship delivered record digital engagement, according to the European Handball Federation (EHF). The tournament, held from January 15 to February 1 across Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, reached a total online audience of 1.16 billion people, a 52% increase compared to the 2024 edition in Germany.

Video content from the championship generated 243 million views and 3 million interactions, helping the EHF grow its European fan base by 171,000 new followers during the event. The media value of this digital footprint was estimated at €11.2 million, marking a 115% rise from 2024.

The figures highlight the growing popularity of men’s handball across Europe and the effectiveness of digital platforms in connecting with fans.
