Global sports marketing agency IMG has been appointed as the official production partner of WTA Ventures, expanding its relationship with the commercial arm of the women’s professional tennis tour through a new multi-year agreement beginning in 2027.
Under the deal, IMG will oversee production for more than 50 WTA Tour events annually, including the season-ending WTA Finals and tournaments across the WTA 1000, WTA 500 and WTA 250 categories.
The agency will provide a comprehensive range of broadcast services, including host broadcast production, world feed production, venue connectivity, global content distribution, technical operations and short-form digital content production. IMG will also manage specialist production partners, including graphics providers.
Partnership with WTA Ventures expands
The agreement strengthens IMG’s existing relationship with WTA Ventures. The agency already manages the sale of WTA media rights across the Americas and Asia-Pacific, recently securing a broadcast agreement with Brazilian streaming platform CazeTV. IMG also played a key role in the recent commercial partnership that made Mercedes-Benz the WTA’s premier partner.
IMG Chief Business Officer Barney Francis said the expanded partnership builds on the trust between the two organizations and will help increase the WTA’s global reach, commercial value and overall impact.
Experienced production partner
IMG continues to expand its sports production portfolio. In June, the company was appointed international production partner for Germany’s DFB-Pokal, while its broader production rights portfolio also includes the DP World Tour, Ryder Cup, Solheim Cup, Major League Soccer (MLS) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
WTA Ventures Chief Executive Marina Storti said IMG’s proven expertise across multiple sports will help raise the standard of tennis broadcasting, benefiting broadcasters, commercial partners, players, tournaments and fans alike.
Established in March 2023 through a strategic partnership between the WTA and CVC Capital Partners, WTA Ventures oversees the commercial and media rights operations of the women’s professional tennis tour.
