INTERSPORT reported global omnichannel sales of €14.1 billion for 2025, posting modest growth despite currency headwinds that compressed headline figures. On a currency-neutral basis, growth reached 1.2%, compared to 0.4% in euro terms.
The Switzerland-based cooperative operates across 40 countries through a network of 5,260 stores, continuing to rely on a locally focused member model combined with global brand partnerships to drive performance.
Running leads category performance
The Running category emerged as the strongest performer of the year, supported by community-level initiatives and closer alignment with brand partners. Outdoor followed, boosted in part by INTERSPORT’s private label McKINLEY and joint initiatives with key partners. Training ranked third, benefiting from sustained interest among younger consumers and fitness-oriented demand.
Regional growth and market dynamics
Among developing markets, Türkiye and Algeria recorded notable progress, driven by store expansion and rising category demand. In established markets, Greece, Canada, and Ireland showed steady growth, reflecting consistent consumer engagement and effective local execution.
The group also implemented structural changes within its network to improve efficiency, including regional realignments such as Slovenia under Austria, Denmark under Sweden, and Spain under France.
Leadership and strategic direction
2025 marked a leadership transition, with Tom Foley appointed as CEO of IIC – INTERSPORT International Corporation GmbH. On the commercial side, the company renewed its partnership with EA Sports FC 26 and became the official title partner of Hyrox at four major European events.
Outlook
While currency fluctuations impacted reported figures, underlying demand remained stable, particularly in Running and Training categories. INTERSPORT enters 2026 with a continued focus on omnichannel growth, strengthened brand partnerships, and further network optimization across its global operations.
