The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has awarded IRIS Sport Media the exclusive global media rights to the next four Olympic Games for the inflight and inship sectors.

The UK-based advisory firm, founded by former IMG executive Ioris Francini, takes over the contract from Sport 24. The deal covers live broadcasts, delayed coverage, and highlights for two Summer and two Winter Games, ensuring that travelers can stay connected to the action at 35,000 feet or in the middle of the ocean.

A Long-Term Partnership through 2032

The agreement kicks off immediately with the ongoing Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games. The partnership extends through a decade of major global events:

  • Milano Cortina 2026 (Winter)
  • Los Angeles 2028 (Summer)
  • French Alps 2030 (Winter)
  • Brisbane 2032 (Summer)

Evolution of Travel Entertainment

Ioris Francini noted that the demand for premium sports content in the travel sector is at an “all-time high.” With the technological evolution of inflight connectivity, streaming live sports has become simpler and more cost-effective for airlines and passengers alike.

“With the majority of cruise lines in time zones during the Games in LA2028, we expect a huge surge in demand,” said Francini.

Anne-Sophie Voumard, Managing Director of IOC Television and Marketing Services, emphasized that the deal supports the IOC’s objective of “reaching the widest possible audience,” ensuring the Olympic spirit is accessible even to those in transit.
