Lazio has officially presented its ambitious vision for the renovation of the Stadio Flaminio, which President Claudio Lotito intends to transform into the club’s new permanent home. The project was unveiled during a press conference held this morning at the Formello training center.

The proposal focuses on a “stadium within a stadium” concept, aiming to revolutionize the historic structure while preserving its heritage. The plan seeks to breathe new life into the site, merging modern architecture with the existing framework to create a state-of-the-art facility for the Biancocelesti.

A Two-in-One Stadium Concept

During the presentation, several renderings were shown to illustrate the potential transformation. The design involves a sophisticated engineering approach that effectively integrates a modern seating bowl and amenities into the footprint of the original Flaminio.

President Lotito emphasized that while the images provide a clear vision of the club’s intent, the project is currently in the initial phase. It will now undergo rigorous feasibility studies and administrative reviews before moving toward a final construction definition.

Modernizing a Roman Landmark

The Flaminio, originally designed by Pier Luigi Nervi, has long been a subject of discussion for redevelopment. For Lazio, this project represents more than just a renovation; it is a strategic move to secure a dedicated home ground that can generate increased match-day revenue and provide fans with a modernized experience.

The club aims to navigate the complex regulatory environment in Rome to ensure the project respects the architectural significance of the site while meeting the high standards required for top-tier European football.
