Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton is seeing his philanthropic vision yield major results. According to the 2024-2025 Annual Report, his foundation, Mission 44, has now awarded £8 million (€9.1 million) in grants to support underrepresented youth across the globe.

Launched in 2021 with a personal commitment of £20 million from Hamilton, the foundation focuses on narrowing the gaps in employment and education for young people from diverse backgrounds.

Global Impact and Strategic Partnerships

The foundation’s impact has scaled rapidly through a network of 43 strategic alliances spanning the UK, the United States, and Brazil. Key highlights from the report include:

  • 550,000 Young People Supported: Resources have been channeled into grassroots projects that create measurable social change.
  • Organizational Growth: 94% of partner organizations reported that working with Mission 44 significantly improved their operational effectiveness.
  • Diversified Funding: The foundation raised £5.7 million in annual income this year, successfully balancing Hamilton’s personal donations with £2.7 million from external fundraising efforts.

Sustainable Social Change

Mission 44 is shifting its focus toward long-term sustainability. During the last fiscal year, the organization invested £5.1 million in restructuring its fundraising approach to diversify income sources and ensure the foundation remains a permanent fixture in social advocacy.

The foundation continues to advocate for systemic change, moving beyond simple donations to active promotion and collaboration with institutions that work directly within marginalized communities.
