Mediapro extends international media rights deal with Chinese Professional Football League

Spanish audiovisual company Grup Mediapro has renewed its agreement with the Chinese Professional Football League (CPFL) to market the international media rights of Chinese football competitions.

The new deal will run until the 2028 season, extending a partnership that originally began in 2021. Financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Under the contract, Mediapro will continue to sell international broadcast rights for both men’s and women’s competitions organised under the Chinese professional football structure.

Multiple competitions included in the deal

The agreement covers several major Chinese football competitions, including:

  • Chinese Football League One
  • Chinese Football League Two
  • Chinese Youth Football League (Men’s U20)
  • Chinese Women’s Super League
  • Chinese Women’s League One

Through the partnership, Mediapro will be responsible for distributing the competitions’ broadcasts to international markets.

Mediapro strengthens global sports rights portfolio

The renewed deal further reinforces Mediapro’s global sports media rights portfolio.

The company also holds audiovisual rights to a range of major sports competitions, including LaLiga, Concacaf tournaments through 2030, and the South American qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Beyond football, Mediapro is also involved in the production and distribution of events in other sports, including World Skate competitions and the Euro Hockey League.
