MotoGP breaks attendance record at Mugello

The 2026 MotoGP World Championship season continues to set new attendance benchmarks, with the Italian Grand Prix at the Mugello Circuit recording a historic crowd of 178,723 spectators across the weekend.

Mugello sets new all-time attendance record

The Italian round, held between May 29 and May 31, saw a 7.6% increase compared to last year’s 166,074 attendees, making it the most attended race in Mugello’s history.

The weekend also delivered strong sporting moments, with local favourite Marco Bezzecchi claiming a significant home victory, adding to the atmosphere at one of MotoGP’s most iconic venues.

Over 1.2 million fans already in 2026 season

With only seven races completed in the 22-round calendar, MotoGP has already attracted more than 1.2 million fans in total attendance across events.

Key highlights include:

  • Circuit de Jerez–Ángel Nieto: 224,627 spectators
  • Le Mans Circuit: over 300,000 total attendance
  • Thailand GP at Buriram: 228,228 spectators
  • Barcelona round: 184,857 spectators
  • Goiânia debut race: 148,384 spectators

The French Grand Prix at Le Mans remains the most attended event of the season so far.

Global growth trend continues

The early 2026 figures highlight MotoGP’s continued global expansion, with strong attendance across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Several circuits have either broken or approached all-time attendance records, underlining growing fan engagement with the sport.

Alongside the record-breaking crowds, MotoGP and related organizations have also seen leadership changes. Key commercial and marketing figures within the MotoGP and WorldSBK ecosystem have taken on new roles across the wider sports business industry, reflecting ongoing restructuring in motorsport media and commercial operations.
