MotorLand Aragón will remain part of the MotoGP calendar for at least one more season after the Government of Aragón secured a new agreement with the championship.
Under the deal, the circuit in Alcañiz will host the 2027 MotoGP Grand Prix in exchange for a €12 million hosting fee, up from the previous €8 million. The extension ensures the venue’s continued presence in the world championship, although it is expected to take a more secondary role between 2028 and 2031 as an official reserve circuit.
MotorLand Aragón generates an estimated €50 million in direct and indirect economic impact for the region, with nearly half of that linked specifically to the MotoGP race weekend. The event typically attracts more than 110,000 spectators each year.
MotoGP CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta highlighted the long-standing partnership with Aragón, stating that the circuit has played an important role in maintaining the sport’s strong presence in Spain for nearly two decades.
The agreement follows a broader trend of long-term renewals across the MotoGP calendar, with several circuits—including Barcelona-Catalunya, Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo, Sachsenring, Assen, Misano, Motegi, and Le Mans—also extending their contracts through 2031, with annual fees reportedly ranging between €12 million and €14 million.
The move further stabilises MotoGP’s European core while reinforcing the financial importance of hosting fees in the modern motorsport calendar.
