The NFL is officially accelerating its global expansion strategy by selecting TMRW Sports to develop and operate its first-ever professional flag football league. TMRW Sports, founded by golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, secured the partnership after a rigorous bidding process against 11 other firms, including industry giants like TKO Group and Alexis Ohanian’s 776. The venture will be fueled by a $32 million capital injection from NFL franchise owners, aimed at professionalizing the sport as it prepares for its debut in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
TMRW Sports already brings significant experience through its indoor golf league, TGL, and maintains deep ties with the NFL ecosystem. Key investors include NFL owners such as Arthur Blank (Falcons) and Mark Wilf (Vikings). This partnership capitalizes on a 15% surge in flag football participation in the U.S. since 2019. By authorizing active NFL players to compete and providing elite operational support, the league aims to turn flag football into a high-margin, internationally recognized commercial powerhouse.
