The Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) has officially appointed boutique sports marketing agency Druid Sport as its commercial agent for China and the Indian subcontinent. This strategic move aims to capitalize on the national team’s historic qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Norway Leverages Haaland and Odegaard Star Power in Asia
After securing their first World Cup spot in 28 years, Norway is looking to transform on-field success into commercial growth. With global superstars like Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Arsenal’s Martin Ødegaard, the NFF identifies China and the Indian subcontinent as high-priority markets for digital engagement and brand partnerships.
Under the new agreement, Druid Sport will:
- Identify and secure regional sponsorship opportunities for Norway’s national teams.
- Develop market-specific commercial programs tailored to local audiences.
- Manage the federation’s commercial strategy via an on-the-ground presence in the region.
A Data-Driven Strategy for Global Expansion
Runar Pahr Andresen, NFF Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized that these markets offer immense scale and a growing appetite for international football. By partnering with Druid Sport—which also represents the Argentine Football Association (AFA) in the same regions—Norway gains a platform to build long-term, credible relationships with Asian brands.
“Our objective is to bring Norway’s national teams closer to millions of fans across these markets,” said Diarmuid Crowley, CEO of Druid Sport. “We are well-positioned to support this next phase of growth.”
