Now TV, the pay-TV arm of telecommunications giant PCCW, has officially secured the exclusive broadcasting rights for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Hong Kong. The broadcaster will provide comprehensive coverage of all 104 matches from the expanded 48-team tournament, which is set to take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The agreement ensures that Now TV subscribers will have full access to every game through its paid platforms, including dedicated match passes. To broaden the reach of the event, PCCW’s free-to-air channel, ViuTV, will also broadcast selected key matches, including the tournament’s opening game and the highly anticipated final.
This deal marks the third consecutive men’s FIFA World Cup to be aired by Now TV, following its successful broadcasts of the 2018 edition in Russia and the 2022 edition in Qatar. The move comes as FIFA transitions to managing media rights directly in the Asian market, moving away from its traditional reliance on third-party agencies to closer oversee its broadcast relationships.
The 2026 World Cup is scheduled to run from June 12 to July 20, 2026. Despite the Hong Kong national team never having qualified for the tournament, local viewership remains high, supported by Now TV’s robust sports portfolio which also includes the Premier League, LaLiga, and the NBA.
