Olympia to Host Premier Padel’s UK Debut

Olympia London to Host Premier Padel UK Debut Event

London’s Olympia London will stage the first elite Premier Padel tournament in the UK, marking a key milestone in the sport’s continued international expansion.

The event, scheduled for August 4–9, will be held in Olympia’s heritage halls as part of the venue’s broader £1.3bn redevelopment programme.

A New Stage for Premier Padel

The tournament is part of the Premier Padel calendar and will be delivered by Sela in collaboration with the Lawn Tennis Association.

The London event represents a P1-level competition, the second-highest tier on the Premier Padel circuit, below the Majors.

Olympia’s Strategy to Attract Global Sport

Olympia Events, which operates the venue, sees the tournament as part of a broader push to diversify its events portfolio beyond exhibitions and into international sport.

The redevelopment aims to position Olympia as a destination for live entertainment, culture and major sporting events, with the padel tournament joining recent elite boxing events hosted at the site.

Padel’s Rapid Growth in the UK

The UK has seen significant growth in padel participation, with numbers nearly doubling over the past year, according to LTA data.

Infrastructure has expanded accordingly, with a sharp rise in the number of courts and venues across the country since the sport gained official governing body recognition in 2020.

Strategic Venue Selection

Organizers highlighted Olympia’s central London location, connectivity and adaptable space as key factors in hosting the event.

For Premier Padel, the UK debut reflects an ongoing strategy to expand into major international markets while leveraging iconic urban venues to enhance visibility and fan engagement.
