Palmeiras Evaluates Allianz Parque Expansion to Increase Stadium Capacity

Palmeiras is currently evaluating a proposal to increase the capacity of Allianz Parque, which currently holds between 43,700 and 45,000 spectators on match days. The club’s internal technical analysis is focused on potential modifications that would allow for higher attendance levels beginning in 2026.

Proposed Structural Changes The primary proposal under consideration involves removing the seats in the “Gol Norte” sector, located in the lower tier behind one of the goals. The goal is to convert this area into a higher-density standing section. Furthermore, the club is exploring the possibility of applying a similar modification to the upper level of the same section, which would further increase the venue’s total capacity.

Regulatory Hurdles and Next Steps While internal evaluations have progressed, any structural intervention is subject to rigorous review. The implementation of the plan is contingent upon the approval of the relevant public safety and oversight authorities. The club maintains that obtaining these permits is a mandatory prerequisite before any construction begins.

Commercial and Sponsorship Outlook In addition to stadium developments, the club is navigating a shifting commercial landscape. The Sherwin-Williams Company, through its Suvinil brand in Brazil, is reportedly being considered as a potential partner for this renovation project. Furthermore, Suvinil has been mentioned as a candidate to fill the sponsorship void left by Fictor, which exited the club earlier this year following insolvency proceedings. Previously, that sponsorship agreement was valued at approximately $4.8 million per season, plus performance-related bonuses.
