Paris Saint-Germain is continuing to reap the off-field benefits of its historic European success, as a new study reveals a steady rise in the club’s public image across France.
According to a survey conducted by Odoxa for RTL and Winamax, 49% of the French public now hold a positive opinion of PSG, marking a further 2-point increase compared to previous measurements.
Champions League Effect Still Paying Dividends
The upward trend follows PSG’s UEFA Champions League triumph in June 2025, which initially boosted the club’s image by 8 percentage points. That momentum has not faded—rather, it has continued to build over the past year.
Among football fans, PSG’s popularity is even stronger. The survey shows that 73% of football enthusiasts now have a positive perception of the club, also up by 2 points.
Long-Term Growth with Fluctuations
The data highlights a broader trend of fluctuating but overall rising sentiment toward PSG over the past decade. While the club experienced dips—most notably in late 2024—its European success has acted as a catalyst for renewed public approval.
- 2016: 34% positive opinion
- 2020: 40%
- June 2025 (post-UCL): 47%
- March 2026: 49%
Among football fans, the growth is even more pronounced, climbing from 49% in 2016 to 73% in 2026.
A Stronger Brand Beyond the Pitch
The findings underline how sporting success at the highest level can directly influence a club’s brand perception. PSG’s Champions League victory not only delivered silverware but also strengthened its emotional connection with fans and improved its national image.
In an increasingly competitive global football market, this kind of reputational growth reinforces PSG’s position as one of the most influential clubs in world football—both on and off the pitch.
