Record-Breaking Sellouts at MSG and TD Garden Cement League’s Growth

The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) is riding an unprecedented wave of momentum following the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina. The league officially announced that its upcoming inaugural games at two of North America’s most iconic venues—Madison Square Garden in New York and TD Garden in Boston—are completely sold out.

The April Showcase

  • April 4, 2026 (New York): The New York Sirens will host the Seattle Torrent at Madison Square Garden. With a capacity exceeding 18,000, this game is projected to set a new U.S. attendance record for a professional women’s hockey game.
  • April 11, 2026 (Boston): The Boston Fleet will host the Montreal Victoire at TD Garden (capacity 17,800). This match is expected to surpass the league’s current U.S. record and rank among the highest-attended women’s professional hockey games in history.

Post-Olympic Surge

The “Olympic Effect” has been a significant catalyst for the league’s business operations:

  • Record Attendance: The Seattle Torrent set the current U.S. arena record of 17,335 on February 27, 2026, during their first home game following the Olympic break.
  • League-Wide Growth: PWHL attendance is up 17% season-over-season. During the Olympic period (Feb. 2–25), the league saw a 200% increase in YouTube video views, while website traffic surged to nearly 6x its typical non-game levels.
  • Global Visibility: With 61 PWHL players representing eight nations at the Winter Games—collectively winning 41 medals—the league has successfully converted Olympic viewership into long-term fan interest.

“Selling out both Madison Square Garden and TD Garden is a true testament to our fans, whose passion has fueled the growth of the PWHL,” said Amy Scheer, PWHL Executive Vice President of Business Operations.
