Qatar prepares for F1 and MotoGP amid Middle East uncertainty

Qatar’s Lusail International Circuit says preparations for next month’s Formula 1 and MotoGP events are nearing completion, despite continued uncertainty surrounding the races due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix is scheduled for November 6-8, followed by the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix from November 27-29.

According to Lusail International Circuit, final preparations are underway across grandstands, hospitality facilities and wider event infrastructure ahead of the two major motorsport events.

The races remain under scrutiny after the regional conflict previously disrupted the motorsport calendar. Formula 1 cancelled planned races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia earlier this year, while MotoGP’s Qatar Grand Prix was postponed from April to November because of the geopolitical situation.

Lusail International Circuit chief executive Abdulaziz Ali Al-Muhannadi said preparations were “nearing completion”, with teams focused on venue readiness and the overall fan experience.

The two events are expected to bring significant international attention to Qatar, with the circuit set to host MotoGP and Formula 1 within a three-week period.

The developments come as international sports organisers continue to assess the operational and security implications of staging major events in the Middle East amid ongoing regional instability.
