RFEA returns to profit with €24m revenue in 2025

Real Federación Española de Atletismo (RFEA) has reported a strong financial turnaround, closing 2025 with more than €24 million in revenue and a net profit of €1.8 million.

The results, approved at the federation’s General Assembly, mark a significant recovery from 2024, when the organisation posted a loss of €129,500. Year-on-year revenue rose by 42%, increasing by €7.38 million, while expenses also climbed from €17.5 million to nearly €23 million.

Despite higher costs, the federation successfully restored profitability, highlighting improved financial management and operational efficiency. The positive trend is also reflected in its balance sheet, with net equity continuing to grow. After rising by more than €2 million in 2024, net equity increased by over €4 million in 2025, contributing to a total growth of more than €10 million over the past two years.

The federation also strengthened its financial position through higher own funds, which rose by €6.71 million in 2025, following a €2.24 million increase the previous year.

Looking ahead, the RFEA has set a more conservative budget for 2026, projecting €18.4 million in revenue and around €18.2 million in expenses, targeting a modest net profit of €200,000.

As part of its financial strategy, the federation has introduced a new model aimed at aligning investments with returns and improving cash flow management. It has also approved an increase in its bank debt limit to €4 million, allowing for the restructuring of up to €1.8 million in short-term obligations into longer-term liabilities.
